thejourneguy Today I expanded my list of top 5 watchmakers to top 6. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Michel Boulanger, the master watchmaker turned student of Philippe Dufour. Mr. Boulanger was a key component in the collaboration project between Philippe Dufour and Greubel Forsey, having been the selected "student" of the project.
I spent quite some time with him and well, it was beyond enjoyable. Michel is an incredible watchmaker and an even greater person to speak to; funny, knowledgeable, honest, and very humble. In fact, so humble I nearly felt like crying.
I mentioned my respect towards him and told him I would purchase one of his own personal timepieces if he makes them. He quickly responded in saying that he does not want to make and sell watches. He wants to teach and relay his skills to students instead. All he wants to do is just that, passion! I respect him so much and he is my top 6!
Btw, he was astonished by my Centigraphe and kept playing with it too, calling to Dufour to check it out!

Dufour is focused on finishing while François-Paul focuses on mechanical innovations, yet both are kings within their own field

Da blir det nok vanskelig med middag på The Palomar @Havvo Vi reiser torsdag neste uke.
Toget (Great Western Railway) til Oxford går hver 30 min fra Paddington Station. Så kanskje løsningen vil være å bo ved Paddington Station. I så fall kan jeg anbefale Hotel Novotel London Paddington. Hilton London Paddington Hotel skal også være bra etter at de fikk pusset opp i fjor.

Denne så kul ut for usofistikerte folk (som meg) som liker store klokker. Men 4-tallet burde han ha droppet; ser for dumt ut. Mer interessant: hva er dette "electro-mechanical"? Kan du forklare det for normale dødelige?

Sofia seks år falt pladask for stole. Så hun kapret den rett etter frokosten i dag
Er uenig at de burde droppet 4 tallet. Litt av FPJ dna´et er jo disse tallene som blir kuttet. Eks. på Bleu så er 7 tallet kuttet i bunn. Men ikke så heftig som på Élégante.
electro-mechanical er vel en omskriving av "quartz"
Men i motsetning til vanlige quartzverk så er denne smart.Den har en mekanisk bevegelsesensor som er synlig på urskiven (klokken fem). Hvis klokken ligger i ro i ca. 30 minutter så går den i standby-modus. Mikroprosessoren holder fortsatt tiden, mens de mekaniske delene som tannhjul, rotor og visere står stille for å spare energi. Når klokken blir satt i bevegelse så stilles tiden igjen (tar den korteste veiern, enten med eller mot klokken), å viser rett tid igjen.

7-tallet på klokken din er ikke kuttet, @Edzilla Det er bevisst mindre skriftstørrelse på 7 og 8 og har vært tidvis heftig debattert på veven.
